HINDU VIDYALAYA NURSERY AND PRIMARY SCHOOL,
Ramanathapuram
History of the school
The Management of VHVK had a cordial relationship with Sri. R. P. Birla, who took the onerous construction of numerous temples in the Ramanathapuram District. This paved way for the sanction of a piece of Land for constructing a Boys hostel for the age group of Ten, hailing from the underprivileged sections of the society. They were given boarding & lodging with a harmonious environment in this hostel between different groups for over Twenty-five years. Such activities received a good rapport & reputation about the Management of VHVK in and around Ramnad District.
Hence a demand to start an English medium school arose. Sri. Sulochanan Thambi, a full time worker of VHVK, was put in charge of the Hindu Vidyalaya School started in the year 1986, for classes I – V, in one acre land given for Annual lease by Thiruvavadudurai Adheenam. Initially the school was run in a thatched roof building. Later, the new school building was inaugurated by His Holiness Sri Kanchikamakoti Peetadhipathi Jagadguru Sri Jeyendra Saraswathi Sankaracharya Swamigal, on 8th April 1999, in the presence of Sri. S. Vedantam, the President of VHVK and Smt. Girija Seshadri, the correspondent of the school.
